The Consortium for Efficient and Healthy Building, formerly known as the PassivHaus Consortium (CPH), is the leading association of companies and professionals dedicated to a new way of building. We are activists and we need the support of society as a whole. Our movement fights for people’s right to live in healthy spaces that promote efficient and responsible consumption.
We are companies committed to a necessary change in the construction industry, a change that must happen now and that goes beyond the sector itself: we are talking about people’s right to housing that supports their health, their finances and their environment.
As professionals in a mature sector, we could have chosen the established path and avoided the debate; however, our responsibility and love for what we do mean that we take a stand and tackle the necessary change that the construction industry requires today: it is not possible to continue building spaces without addressing key aspects such as sustainable materials or energy efficiency.
Among the Consortium’s main objectives are:
- To engage society and its members in the major challenges of sustainable building.
- To draw up recommendations for action on sustainable building for public authorities.
- To organise activities and engage society in the field of efficient and healthy building.
- To provide society with the information needed to ensure compliance with energy efficiency, comfort and cost-effectiveness standards, and to maintain these standards over time.
- To encourage the availability and widespread adoption in the market of products certified and endorsed by national and international bodies, or which guarantee energy efficiency, comfort or low energy consumption.
- To promote research, development and innovation in new products with the highest possible energy efficiency standards.
- To encourage its members to take action across the entire production and marketing chain to ensure its sustainability.
